How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible. Popular dates such as summer weekends, December and New Year's Eve can fill up 6 to 12 months in advance. That said, we'll always do our best to accommodate last-minute enquiries if our schedule allows, so don't hesitate to reach out.
What areas do you cover?
We're based in Oakville and regularly perform across the GTA including Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton and beyond. We're happy to travel further afield — just get in touch and we'll let you know if your location is doable.
How much does a live band cost for a wedding or event?
Pricing depends on several factors including time on site, number of sets, travel distance and any specific requirements such as overnight stays or bespoke song preparation. As a general guide, packages typically range from around $900 to $5,000. The best way to get an accurate quote is to contact us with your event details and we'll put together a package that works for your budget.
How long do you play for?
Our standard package covers 3 hours on site, which typically includes two to three live sets. We're flexible with timings and can tailor the schedule to suit your event's running order. We also provide background music during breaks at no extra charge.
Can we make song requests?
Absolutely. We love making your event personal. If there's a special song you'd like for a first dance, a favourite track for the party or something specific for a particular moment in the evening, just let us know in advance and we'll do our best to make it happen.
Do you provide your own sound equipment and lighting?
Yes. We bring our own professional PA system and equipment so you don't need to worry about sourcing a separate sound company. Just let us know the size of your venue and expected guest numbers when you enquire and we'll make sure we're set up to fill the room.
Do you play background music between sets?
Yes. We provide background playlist music during our breaks as standard, so there's no awkward silence and the atmosphere stays consistent throughout the evening.
What genres do you cover?
Our set list spans pop, classic rock, motown, soul, R&B, latin, reggae and hip hop — 100+ songs covering every mood and decade. From classic floor-fillers to current chart hits, we keep guests of all ages entertained.
How many people are in the band?
The Covernotes are a 4-piece band featuring lead vocals, guitar, bass and drums, with multiple members sharing vocal duties for a full and varied sound throughout the performance.
Can we see the band perform before booking?
We occasionally play public events — follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay up to date. You can also check out our showreels on the website to get a feel for what we're like live.
What do you need from the venue?
We need a suitable performance space, vehicle access for load-in and load-out, a power supply near the performance area and ideally a green room or changing area. We're experienced working with all kinds of venues and are very accommodating, from small function rooms to large outdoor stages and we'll work with you or your venue coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Do you travel outside the GTA?
Yes, we're open to performing anywhere in Ontario and beyond. Additional travel costs may apply for events outside our regular area. Contact us with your location and we'll let you know what's involved.
How do we book?
Simply get in touch via the contact form on our website or call us on (365) 779-0323. Let us know your event date, type, location and any requirements and we'll come back to you with availability and a tailored quote.
Do you have public liability insurance?
Yes. We carry full public liability insurance, which many venues require as standard. We're happy to provide documentation on request.
What happens if a band member is ill?
We take our commitments very seriously. In the rare event that a band member is unable to perform, we have a network of trusted and experienced musicians we can call on as a substitute, ensuring your event goes ahead without disruption.
